John,
Shelley Luther is free -- thanks to the work of Open the States patriots in Texas.
Yesterday we told you about a tyrannical judge in Texas who sent a salon owner to jail for seven days for refusing to abide by Dallas’s draconian lockdown orders. She kept her salon open, as she put it, to feed her kids and make sure her stylists could do the same.
“So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon," she told the judge.
Texas patriots sprang into action. They organized a protest at the Dallas County Courthouse, and Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler was among the attendees. (

Thanks to their efforts, both Governor Greg Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick voiced their support for Shelley and demanded her release. Then, earlier today, the Texas Supreme Court ordered that Shelley be released from jail.
This is a huge victory for the Reopen movement and a testament to the power of the American people.
We won’t stop until all Americans are free at every level of government. State and local officials must be forced to follow through on their promise to reopen America, and the Open the States patriots will be on the front lines to make sure that happens.
