John,

Earlier this week, The Columbian reported on the specific challenges of teaching students who lack computers or proper access to high-speed broadband internet -- an issue that more palpably is felt in rural communities across the country, and especially in our community. If you have the time, John, I hope you’ll read the entire article. Afterward, you can let me know what you thought of it.

Tell me what you thought

With thousands of students from our community now learning online from the safety of their own homes, expanding broadband access to the entirety of our district has never been more important.

As a mother and a teacher, I’m more ready than ever to get to work fighting for increased broadband access for every community in Southwest Washington. But this is one battle I won’t be able to wage without your help, John. The only way I’m going to get to Congress is if my team maintains the resources that are necessary to continue running a strong campaign. I hope that you’ll consider making a donation today, John, if it’s within your means.

Donate today

Thanks for your support, John. We wouldn’t be where we are today if not for all that you’ve already done.

In solidarity,

-- Carolyn

We hope that this message finds you well, John.

With each passing day, our community is awoken to new realities about our new normal.

Coronavirus-driven lockdowns have highlighted the necessity of internet connectivity and deficiencies in existing broadband infrastructure -- especially in more rural parts of the country like ours. We’re proud to know that in Congress, Carolyn will fight for broadband access for every community in Southwest Washington, because we deserve access to broadband regardless of our zip code in order to provide education for our children and online markets for our small businesses. If you agree, as we do, please consider investing in Carolyn’s change campaign today.

John, uneven access to broadband has social and economic implications -- widening disparities and often disproportionately hitting our rural communities.

And now more than, it’s clear the broadband infrastructure is a critical service. With students finishing their education online, and as more businesses fully transition to e-commerce, broadband isn’t just a matter of daily use -- it’s a daily need.

But the fact of the matter is that too many folks in Southwest Washington lack proper access to broadband.

This issue requires smart, urgent action on behalf of our community’s leadership -- and that’s why we’re determined to get Carolyn to Congress: She’ll fight for us when we need it most. John, if you’re able to today, please consider contributing any amount to Carolyn’s change campaign today.
