You may have already noticed an uptick in emails from political candidates across the country saying that they need your help right now contacting voters if we want to defeat Donald Trump and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

They’re not wrong, John.

A lot of these emails have even come from us.

So, we want to pull back the curtain and tell you what all the urgency is about: We are effectively tied in the seven battleground states -- Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina. We are expecting another razor-thin election, so our strategy is to compete everywhere, expand the map, and maximize the number of pathways to victory so that we can win this election even if not every swing state goes our way.

Right now, we’re at risk of falling short of the goals we need to hit in order to beat Donald Trump.

We set out this weekend with an ambitious goal of 800,000 doors knocked in key states like Pennsylvania. We have not reached it yet.

Without grassroots energy from this team, we could very easily lose this race and find ourselves facing another four years of Donald Trump. A Donald Trump that is more extreme than ever before.

We cannot let it happen.
