Thousands of National Guard and active-duty service members are providing lifesaving support in Florida and across the Southeast after Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton caused massive damage across the region. Florida National Guard assists in high-water rescue missions in Florida after Hurricane Milton.
Search and rescue teams have conducted over 4,200 rescues and assists since Hurricane Milton struck Florida as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, service members in western North Carolina are delivering critical supplies, including water and food, to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
They’re also working to help communities recover from unprecedented flooding — and they’ll remain in communities as long as it takes to support those affected by these disastrous storms.

USO Mobile Centers serve hot meals to service members.
Thanks to supporters like you, our USO Mobile Centers were the first to bring internet access to disaster-stricken areas in North Carolina.
In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, National Guard members had been working hard for days when our Mobile USO team arrived on the scene. They provided dry socks and served over 900 hot dogs, giving these heroes a well-deserved hot meal and respite.
