This road has never been easy for me.
When I first ran for Congress, I ended election night victorious. While I had a narrow lead, it was solid. But as the final votes were counted and all 244,393 were tallied…everything changed.
I lost my election. My Democrat opponent had won, and I would not be a member of Congress.
The Democrats had spent millions to defeat me, and they prevailed. We had come up short. The Democrats flipped seats across California, claiming the House Majority along with them.

^ Everywhere I looked, I saw headlines like this. I was constantly reminded of how far we had come, only to fall short.
But I wasn’t going to let this loss define me. Our team had worked hard and earned support from so many, and I knew this couldn’t be how my story ended. So, less than six months after the outcome of my election flipped, I announced I would run again.
And by the skin of my teeth, we turned the tables in the next election. Despite an even greater uphill battle, we flipped a deep blue seat red for the first time in decades and shocked the nation!
Every day since I have never taken this opportunity to serve you for granted. But every day since, the Democrats have also been working overtime to defeat me once again.
They know CA-40 is the KEY to flipping the House Majority. They’re pulling out all the stops. They’re spending millions. They’re fighting each day because they believe that if they can defeat me once, they can defeat me twice.
But I know you’re not going to let that happen, so here’s what I need from you. I know this is no small ask, but could you chip in just a few dollars before my next deadline? It will make all the difference this November. |
