As an actor, I've played a man who helped elect and served two great presidents in The West Wing.

I've also played a man that was the architect of a brutal totalitarian society in The Handmaid's Tale. 

While those roles and worlds were fictional, they represent a very real truth: There are those who use the power of their office for good, and there are those who use power to enrich themselves while inflicting harm onto others.

Extremist Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is a prime example of the latter. He literally enriched himself by committing what was then the largest Medicare fraud scheme in U.S. history at the time — and then he used $64 million of his own fortune to buy Florida's Senate seat and unleash Donald Trump's agenda on the American people.

We have the chance to send him packing by electing someone good — someone who cares about protecting our freedoms, not taking them away. Someone who acts with urgency to curb gun violence and protect our environment. Someone who truly cherishes our democracy.
