Dear Friend,

With so many new people growing food at home in their pandemic gardens, we want to make sure you know where to get the right supplies—or find them around your home or neighborhood—despite the lockdown.

We're also encouraging folks to do some deep thinking about the history of victory gardens, the seed industry, and what we need to do today to ensure all Americans have access to healthy foods and their own Climate Victory Gardens

While coronavirus is at the forefront of our minds, we know the importance of staying focused on the climate. The great thing is: we can address both crises in our gardens by supplementing our food supply and capturing carbon.

Finding Garden Supplies During Lockdown

Some garden companies were caught off-guard by the surprise spike in interest for garden supplies and may be experiencing shortages. Fear not, you can still find what you need to grow good food! There are lots of great small businesses and local options to source garden supplies.

Understanding History to Succeed Today

Green America’s Climate Victory Gardening campaign strives to reclaim the good from the WWII victory gardening movement, but we can’t do that without addressing the injustice and racism that Japanese Americans experienced.
