I know the value of the dollar better than anyone. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth and had to work extra shifts at the local Hardee's, making biscuits to pay for my education.

My name's Joni Ernst. I rarely send emails like this, and it's likely you've never heard from me so please let me introduce myself. I grew up a farmer's daughter. I ride a Harley and can bet there are few people in this world who can castrate a hog better than me. I'm a combat veteran. I served for over 23 years and led convoys through Kuwait and Iraq.

Service isn't just a word to me - it's ingrained in my DNA. It's why it makes me madder than all get out that Republicans and Democrats alike are wasting time and dollars in Washington. They aren't serving anyone other than themselves, and I'm sick of it.
