Hi, friend, thank you for being a part of this grassroots team to flip Florida blue. Your support truly means so much to me.
I want to take a moment to tell you a bit about my record and why I'm in this race. (Recent polling shows me statistically tied with Rick Scott, so if you're already all in to flip Florida blue, you can make a gift here.)

My mother brought my sisters and me to America when I was 14 to give us a chance at a better life. It took long hours, hard work, and a whole lot of hope, but we were able to win our American Dream. That's why I made the decision to spend my career giving back to this incredible country and the state that gave me so much.
I worked at several nonprofit organizations across Florida, helping to protect our wildlife and preserve our coral reefs. During my time working at Florida International University, I helped lead a new program to improve access to affordable health care for more Floridians.
In 2018, I decided to take these fights to Washington. I ran for Congress in a tough battleground district — and I won. In the House, I wrote the bill to expand seniors’ Medicare Advantage coverage, to ensure that more Americans could get the vital care they deserve. I also worked with Republicans to provide economic relief to families and small businesses and secured $200 million for Everglades restoration.
Throughout my time in Congress, I fought tirelessly for commonsense gun safety reforms, serving as the vice chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. This issue is deeply personal to me: When I was 24, my father was killed by a criminal with a gun. After leaving Congress, I joined Gabby Giffords' advocacy group as a senior advisor and continued to fight for safer communities and an end to the gun lobby's grip on Washington.
I'm incredibly proud of the work that I've done to uplift and protect my community. I'll never hide from my record. But I don't think that my opponent can say the same. Rick Scott has spent his time in power writing the plan to cut Social Security and Medicare, attempting to undermine our elections, attacking our rights, and making it harder for working families to get ahead. It's no wonder his approval ratings are tanking.
My opponent is ranked as one of the most vulnerable senators on the ballot this year, but I can only defeat him with strong grassroots support. So please, if you have anything extra to spare, will you make a donation now to help me hit my critical $5 million fundraising goal before my very last mid-month deadline? I'm counting on you to have my back right now so we can defeat Rick Scott and win a better future for Florida.
