After Mike Espy went on local news and called on Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith to return contributions she received from a key player in the Mississippi welfare scandal, her campaign announced they’ll be donating the money.

While on TV, Mike explained, “I called on Senator Hyde-Smith to show some accountability, and it took someone like me to get her to respond. I’m going to keep calling her out — because Mississippi deserves a leader who will stand up to corruption and do what's right for the people.”

Mid-way through the interview, Hyde-Smith’s campaign reached out to the reporter to let them know she’s returning the tainted contribution. But she still hasn’t spoken out publicly about the scandal or called for federal oversight over Mississippi’s TANF program.

Hyde-Smith caved to the pressure our campaign built, but Mike’s not done holding her accountable to the people of Mississippi. He’s going to continue calling her out to do the right thing and demand a federal investigation into this disgraceful fraud and embezzlement.
