In a few days, the window will close on your opportunity to raise your voice against Trump’s latest plan to harm immigrant families. Much like other proposed rule changes, the Trump administration is using backdoor regulatory measures to enact its anti-immigrant agenda, because they know they won’t be able to get their way in Congress.

This latest plan targets lawfully residing immigrants or citizens who receive housing assistance, and punishes them if they have mixed status families. Families will be forced to make the impossible choice between homelessness and tearing their families apart, leaving over a hundred thousand family members, including tens of thousands of U.S. citizen children--without a roof over their heads.

This is cruel and nonsensical: Even the Trump administration admits that this would actually worsen the housing affordability crisis we see in so many of our cities.

This rule, much like the racial wealth test we fought against last year, is designed to divide our communities while they enact policies to pad the pockets of the one percent. We have an opportunity right now to reject these divisive tactics and demand policies that allow all our families to thrive.
