Disaster Relief Local and Abroad: World Animal Protection is Here to Help.
Friend,
In recent weeks, our communities have faced unimaginable challenges. Hurricanes Helene and Milton have wreaked havoc on the U.S. East Coast, while Typhoon Yagi has devastated Thailand, leading to catastrophic flooding that has threatened elephants at sanctuaries.
And the things we're hearing are heartbreaking. Among the heart-wrenching stories emerging is that of Ploy Thong, a blind elephant in Thailand. In her panic to get to safety during the floods, she tragically drowned, separated from her herd, who waited in vain for her return. Thankfully, over 120 elephants were rescued, but Ploy Thong's story is a stark reminder of the vulnerability of these magnificent creatures.
Here in the U.S., the devastation has also been severe. We estimate that millions of chickens have tragically perished, trapped and abandoned in cruel factory farms during Hurricane Helene. And while we wait for numbers, we expect more loss of animal life from Hurricane Milton.
In times like these, it can feel like there's no hope for vulnerable animals. But World Animal Protection is here to help. With your support, World Animal Protection US is once again activating our Disaster Response Fund to provide immediate relief for animals affected by these disasters. Can you support this work with a lifesaving gift today? [[link removed]]

Here's how your gift can make a difference today:
Provide Critical Relief: Your donation will support organizations on the ground responding to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, ensuring that animals receive the help they desperately need. This includes support for groups like Ziggy's Refuge, Flying Pigs Sanctuary, and Asheville Humane Society.
Fund Recovery for the Elephants in Thailand: Your support will supply essential food and medication for elephants rescued from the floods in Thailand. Our two-stage recovery plan focuses on the hardest-hit areas of Chiang Mai, including the Elephant Nature Park and nearby subdistricts that shelter 200 elephants. We’re collaborating with Chiang Mai University to ensure they receive the critical medical supplies the elephants need.
Raise Awareness: Your gift will help us highlight the devastating effects of factory farming, a major contributor to climate change.
Advocate for Animals: Your support will help us continue our work in the critical fight against animal exploitation.
Friend, we urgently need your help. Together, we can help suffering animals in disasters and beyond. Thank you for your support. [[link removed]]
Sincerely,
Your World Animal Protection US Team
