It’s been over a month since Congress passed the CARES Act - allocating trillions of dollars in economic relief and resources for families, workers, and hospitals. But it fell far short of including everyone who needs relief, and the working families who need it the most are having the hardest time accessing it.
And with over 30 million Americans and counting out of work, we cannot afford to wait to take action.

The second CARES Act must include provisions that don't leave anybody behind. This means:
✅ Ensuring everyone, regardless of tax or immigration status, age, or disability receives the assistance they desperately need.
✅ Ensuring that the economic relief we provide lasts the length of the crisis and continues until working families are back on their feet.
✅ Ensuring every action Congress takes addresses inequality and strengthens racial equity and economic equality.
This means putting money directly into the hands of families who can't afford to pay their bills. This means preventing job layoffs and protecting paychecks. This means ensuring our frontline workers receive hazard pay and personal protective equipment. And this also means protecting safe and secure elections by enacting a nationwide vote-by-mail system.
We have to make sure that struggling landlords and renters are covered with rent and mortgage relief to avoid greater stress. And we have to ensure that Puerto Rico isn’t left behind. Millions of struggling Puerto Rican families desperately need more cash assistance to survive. Nobody deserves to be left behind.
The light at the end of the tunnel may seem far away, but with dedicated grassroots supporters like you, we will get there. Together, we will ensure everyone receives the economic relief they need during these challenging times.
