Hello everyone on the Franken Crew. We are headed to the finish line in a full sprint.
With just a few weeks to go, I circulated an internal team memo laying out our path to victory -- how we navigate the primary and beat Joni Ernst in November.
The Admiral, the campaign staff, and our army of volunteers are all in this race to win it. So, here's an update on what's in store for the next three weeks; the objective is clear -- cross the finish line in first place.
Thank you,
-Kimberley

Re: Path to Victory
THE PATH TO VICTORY
Admiral Mike is the strongest candidate to take on Joni Ernst this fall, by far. Our campaign is grounded in the lessons he learned growing up in Northwest Iowa and serving for nearly 40 years in the Navy.
We won't take any vote for granted, and voters (Democrats and Republicans) have noticed.
From the launch of our campaign, we've made it clear that we plan to reach voters throughout Iowa. We even held our launch event in rural Sioux County, the Admiral's ancestral home. When we had to file our nomination papers to get on the ballot, we had signatures from Democrats in all of Iowa's 99 counties and five times the number of needed signatures.
Our hard work is showing in the numbers.
The most recent poll from the Des Moines Register showed that Admiral Mike is the strongest candidate in the primary and general election. He has a +14 favorability rating with Democrats - more than any other candidate. That means Democrats who know him, believe the Admiral is the best candidate to flip Iowa in November.

OUR CAMPAIGN IS BUILT TO WIN
From the start of our campaign, we've prioritized building relationships with Iowans all throughout the state. That meant prioritizing the hard work of traveling and meeting voters in their homes and local coffee shops in every corner of Iowa - placing a premium on developing deep support from Iowans over big dollar donors.
Our effort has only made us stronger during this national health emergency.
We pivoted right away to staying in touch with voters online -- hosting daily virtual town halls so that voters throughout Iowa can interact with Admiral Mike and connect with him about the most important issues of the day.

And, when national super PACs entered the race to try and tip the scales, we responded. We've been reaching Iowans online since February and were the first candidates to launch our TV ad in the primary. It hasn't been easy - but thanks to the support of our robust grassroots network we've been able to match outside entities on TV in Iowa's largest markets.
MIKE FRANKEN IS THE CANDIDATE FOR THE MOMENT
In times like these, we need leaders who know how to take a tough stand and lead in a time of crisis.
Admiral Mike's just the person to take the helm right now. When he was a junior officer at the table, in a room under pressure to justify an invasion of Iraq, Mike cast the lone vote against the disastrous invasion, a disastrous war, and a failed attempt at thrusting ourselves on a culture we did not understand.
He's built coalitions and led teams to battle some of our most challenging international crises. Admiral Mike led a 4,000 person command in Africa. He was involved in addressing the Ebola outbreak and has seen the impact of preparation on the containment of infectious diseases.
Most of all, right now, we need leaders who know how to get the job done and who'll put Iowans first. We can count on Admiral Mike Franken to lead from day one.

THE BOTTOM LINE
We have to defeat Joni Ernst in November, and Mike is the perfect candidate at the perfect time. A military commander, from rural Iowa, gifted with intellect, experience, empathy, and vision. He is the person for this time of turmoil -- to lead. He represents us, all Iowans. We've released our ad (watch it here), and we have a clear path to victory to make the Admiral our next Senator.
