The COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on our community. Two weeks ago, our campaign launched a relief effort to help non-profit organizations serve our community.

Because of you, our campaign donated an incredible $1,913 for the EMS FDNY Help Fund! I couldn't be more proud of you for stepping up and supporting the EMTs and paramedics on the frontlines of the COVID-19 battle. Our community is strong, and your support proved that.

Among the most heartbreaking consequences of this crisis has been seeing just how many of our neighbors are food insecure. You should see the emails I get at all hours of the day from people asking for help because they don’t know where their next meal will come from. 

My office has been partnering with the International Rescue Committee and the World Central Kitchen to help feed our community. Every week, we distribute nearly 3,000 meals through the World Central Kitchen, including 2,500 cooked meals twice a week.  

Through this work, we are supporting approximately 600 individuals and families in southern Brooklyn, many of whom don’t qualify for other forms of support or assistance. But every week, the food runs out faster and the lines grow longer. We need your help to continue feeding more of our neighbors.

This week, our community relief effort will support our partnership with the IRC and World Central Kitchen. Every contribution up to $22 will be matched by our campaign dollar for dollar. 

Our campaign's greatest strength has always been our community-powered support. If you are in a position to do so, please make a donation to help us ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
