Something you may not know about me is that one of my first jobs out of college was managing a U.S. House race in Connecticut.
What I learned on that campaign still guides a lot of what I believe today. Even today, the fundamentals of political campaigns are about organizing. Sure, we have new tools with all of the changes in technology in the past three decades, but it all comes back to whether you create a campaign that actually connects — in a meaningful way — with voters.
This is why I’m a believer in grassroots campaigning, not just running TV and digital ads. I believe in investing big in our canvassing and volunteer organizing efforts because I know we cannot take a single vote for granted in any race.
Running a big on-the-ground organizing campaign is expensive, but it’s worth it.
And we’re not stopping with Connecticut. Our grassroots army of volunteers is doing our part to support Democrats in tough races across the country.
Winning my own re-election isn’t enough. I cannot do any of the work — in this campaign or the Senate — alone. We need Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the White House and a majority in the House and Senate.
And most importantly, we need you — and the tens of thousands of people who have gotten our grassroots movement to where we are today. I’m giving this election everything I’ve got, but I need you to join me:
