GLAAD launches ALERT Desk to fight hate

GLAAD recently launched the ALERT Desk, a resource hub aimed at combatting anti-LGBTQ extremism. Since June 1, 2022, we have tracked over 1,850 anti-LGBTQ incidents across the US – corresponding with a 112% rise in anti-LGBTQ hate during Pride month this year. Election 2024: GLAAD fact-checks &amp; LGBTQ voter resources

GLAAD’s News &amp; Rapid Response team produced multiple key fact checks during the Vice Presidential Debate between Governor Tim Walz and Senator J.D. Vance regarding healthcare and reproductive rights that reached nearly 100,000 community members on social media. The Advocate and Metro Weekly also picked up GLAAD's coverage condemning the debate's failure to address LGBTQ+ concerns.

GLAAD kicked off Latine Heritage Month with a night of comedy

At the beginning of Latine Heritage Month, GLAAD and CAA hosted a night of comedy featuring Danielle Perez, Gabe González, Lorena Russ, and Roz Hernandez with fellow creatives and industry professionals in attendance. The event also featured an exclusive first look at the new season of Dímelo, a digital original series from GLAAD and LatiNation, which takes a sharp, funny look at stereotypes while uncovering surprising data on how our communities are represented in the media.
