We closed out this week at PublicSource with a story about Mark Steidl, a 29-year-old from Highland Park with cerebral palsy. Steidl, who uses a Tobii Dynavox communication device to talk in an electronic voice, is a disability and LGBT rights activist, works in technical support for a company that makes communication devices — and this summer, co-wrote an opera. Read more about their experimental opera here. ([link removed])
Also this week, we wrote about the future rebirth of a Downtown building as affordable housing ([link removed]) , Sara Innamorato's proposed budget that includes a property tax increase ([link removed]) and how past Pittsburgh Public Schools closures still haunt the city's West Side ([link removed]) .
If you still have questions on how to vote and who is running, we published a nonpartisan voter guide. We don’t endorse candidates but rather provide you with the tools to make your decisions ([link removed]) .
