Email from Rep. McCaul Texans Answering the Call to Help America’s Communities Over the last two weeks, I — along with the rest of the country — watched in horror as Hurricanes Helene and Milton wreaked havoc on communities across the southeast. My heart breaks for the thousands of families who have lost homes, livelihoods, and even loved ones in these horrific storms. I am extremely proud of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas for sending emergency teams — including Texas A&M University’s Task Force 1 — to the frontlines of this crisis. I will continue to pray for all those who have been impacted as well as our first responders from across the country who have answered the call to help save lives and assist their fellow Americans in time of need. Supporting Texas Farmers, Ranchers, and the Agriculture Community As a fourth-generation Texan, I see firsthand the long, hard days our farmers and ranchers put in to protect our lands, secure our food supply chains, and get food on the table. I’m proud to support them here in Congress and was honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau Award from the American Farm Bureau on behalf of my district. Texas is home to the largest number of farms and ranches in the country, and I am thankful for all the work they do to fuel our nation. I will never stop advocating for their needs and working to support the next generation in agriculture careers. Read more here. Honoring the Victims of the October 7th Massacre, One Year Later One year ago this week, Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists brutally murdered 1,200 people, committed widespread sexual violence, and took 250 hostages, including American citizens. It is with a heavy heart that I remember and honor the innocent victims of Hamas’ evil rampage. Today, Hamas is still holding almost 100 hostages, and every single one of them must be released immediately and unconditionally. Hamas knew their massacre would create chaos in the Middle East. Israel is now fighting a multi-front war against Iran and its proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. I stand firmly with our ally Israel, and I will continue to pressure the Biden-Harris administration to ensure Israel has the support it needs for a decisive victory. I was honored to attend the Israeli Embassy’s memorial in remembrance of the lives lost on October 7th. Our country cannot lose the moral clarity we had one year ago. We must remain ironclad in our commitment to Israel, and I call for the immediate release of the remaining hostages.
