Burning plastic creates fine particle pollution raising the risk of heart disease, respiratory issues, and neurological problems - causing 7 million deaths per year.

The United States produces a huge amount of plastic waste every single year. It ends up in our waterways and environment, posing a hazard to animals and degrading into microplastics that end up in our food and water supply.

The fundamental issue is plastic production and our dependence on single-use plastics like grocery bags and plastic bottles. Plastic, burned or not, is harmful to our environment and our health and we must reduce our dependence on these products.
