Team,

Even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, America's teachers continue to educate, inspire, and connect with their students.

Some are teaching classes fully online, while others hold daily office hours for kids to check-in. Many are writing individual and mass emails to students and sending out postcards with updates and book recommendations. And teachers are staying in touch with parents who need guidance on how to keep their kids engaged and thriving.

While many Americans are finding a newfound appreciation for teachers, those teachers are still under attack from the one Trump administration official who should be their biggest advocate: Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we're asking Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to show the same love for our teachers that we have. Will you join us?

Tell Secretary DeVos: "Stop attacking teachers and public schools." >>

Secretary DeVos has repeatedly put profits and private interests ahead of students while attacking our schools and teachers.

She derided our community public institutions as "government schools" and called selfless public school teachers "bullies." She's tried to roll-back student loan forgiveness programs for teachers at a time when school districts across the country are facing major staff shortages. And she's pushing for more money to be diverted to private schools at a time when public schools are trying to adjust to a new reality.

Like most of us, Andy is a product of public schools and has worked to hold Secretary DeVos accountable, and worked to support -- not weaken -- our public schools. That's why he recently won the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers. But Andy can't win this fight alone.

We need your help to show Secretary DeVos that Americans want her to treat our teachers with respect -- not further attacks -- when this pandemic is over.

Will you take action to defend our schools, students, and teachers today? Take action this Teacher Appreciation Week by adding your name to the list of people holding Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos accountable.

Thank you for taking action. And to all the teachers reading this, thank you for all that you do.

With our appreciation,

Team Kim
