Hi John.
I understand that the cost of groceries remains a serious concern for Kansans.
That’s why I’m working with both parties on the U.S. House Agriculture Committee to strengthen our agricultural supply chains. Helping Kansas farmers grow and deliver their food more cheaply means helping our state’s largest economic sector and lower prices at the grocery store.
But it’s clear there’s more to do. Congress also has a responsibility to stop big corporations from taking advantage of this situation.
That’s why I’m supporting the Price Gouging Prevention Act to lower prices for Kansans. Click here to learn nonpartisan information about the bill at congress.gov.
Big corporations shouldn't take advantage of consumers and keep raising prices on everything from meat to bread and eggs.
There must be accountability. Congress simply shouldn’t stand by as big corporations gouge consumers.
That’s why I’m supporting the Price Gouging Prevention Act. It lets the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general enforce a ban against grossly excessive price increases. This is regardless of where the price gouging occurs in the supply chain distribution network.
I’m pushing for concrete and bipartisan solutions to lower grocery prices and make life more affordable. I understand there’s a lot more work to do, so as this work continues, please know that my office is always here to help however it can.
