A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
This week, we celebrated a significant milestone that will improve our children’s lives, invest in our school communities, and advance our clean energy future. On Wednesday, I joined federal and state leaders in announcing $12.5 million in Clean School Bus rebates for Rhode Island — paving the way for long-term savings as we embark on a journey toward cleaner transportation.
Congressman Gabe Amo and EPA Regional Administrator David Cash celebrate federal funding for clean school buses in Rhode Island.
This transformative investment — made possible thanks to President Joe Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — will ensure that more students across Rhode Island will soon ride brand-new, zero-emission school buses. We are helping students breathe healthier air, reduce the risk of asthma and other respiratory illnesses, cut our state's carbon footprint, and save resources for our school districts with these funds. We’re fighting to ensure Rhode Island continues to lead the way in innovation by using federal funds to help electrify school bus fleets.
Together, we are making a difference for the health and well-being of our children — one clean school bus at a time.
| Sincerely, |
 |

This week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced a plan to replace lead water pipes across the U.S. within 10 years.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, up to 9 million homes are still served by dangerous lead pipes which are associated low infant birth weight, increased risk of heart disease, and other chronic illnesses.
The science is clear — no amount of lead in our drinking water is safe.
Thanks to this landmark announcement and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Rhode Island will receive nearly $25 million in federal funding to replace lead pipes around our state.

Partnering with the Treasury Department to Unlock Inflation Reduction Act Opportunities
Congressman Amo welcomed the Senior Advisor for Policy Implementation at the U.S. Department of Treasury, David Eichenthal, to discuss the groundbreaking opportunities to fund clean energy projects through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
This week, I welcomed the Senior Advisor for Policy Implementation at the U.S. Department of Treasury, David Eichenthal, to build on the success of our District Climate Policy Advisory Committee meeting to discuss the groundbreaking opportunities to fund clean energy projects in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The law can help reduce the costs on installing solar panels on your home, making energy-efficient upgrades to your business, or buying an electric vehicle. These incentives are designed to lower your energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and make Rhode Island a leader in sustainability.
At our first District Climate Policy Advisory Committee meeting there was widespread agreement that more information was needed about “Direct Pay.” This is an innovative tool that allows tax-exempt entities — from local governments and municipalities to education, faith, and community groups — to receive credits directly in the form of cash payments to deploy renewable energy initiatives. David spoke directly about this program and the many benefits of this groundbreaking law — like tax credits and rebates — that can help you save money while supporting clean energy efforts right here in Rhode Island.
Together, we can make Rhode Island's economy stronger, greener, and more resilient for the future.
