** Greenpeace didn't get the message that Brat summer is over.
------------------------------------------------------------
Daily Caller ([link removed]) (9/10/24) reports: "One of the original founders of Greenpeace told the Daily Caller News Foundation that he hopes to see Greenpeace USA lose a lawsuit that threatens the group’s existence. Patrick Moore, who was listed on Greenpeace’s website as one of the original founders as recently as 2007 before the organization attempted to distance itself from him, would like Greenpeace USA to lose the massive lawsuit filed against the group by a company called Energy Transfer, he told the DCNF. The company is seeking $300 million in damages from Greenpeace USA in a North Dakota lawsuit that alleges the group or its entities incited major protests against Energy Transfer’s Dakota Access Pipeline, funded various attacks meant to damage the project and orchestrated a smear campaign against the company and its development. 'They’ve got to embrace what is really true science … They
ignore massively important facts, and then make lies up to replace them. So yes, I hope they are going to learn a lesson from this,' Moore told the DCNF regarding his old group and the lawsuit it faces. 'Science is about truth, and then you decide your policy. These guys, they personally decide the policy, and then they lie about the underlying scientific aspects. It just completely bastardized science in much of the world, especially in the Western world … they have become sort of spoiled brats, I would say, and they don’t have good science.'"

** "We have over 50,000 linemen and all the necessary equipment staged just outside of Milton’s path. This is the largest staging of power restoration linemen in Florida’s history, and they are ready to get to work restoring power as soon as the storm passes. Florida is grateful for them, and for all the first responders and emergency management professionals who are working around the clock to keep our communities safe."

"A firebomb in every garage." - Harris 2024

(10/9/24) reports: "Storm surges from Hurricane Milton could turn electric vehicles and other products containing lithium-ion batteries into 'ticking time bombs,' Florida's fire marshal is warning. Residents and first responders are being cautioned about 'an alarming fire hazard with lithium-ion batteries, EVs, as well as hybrid and fuel cell vehicles in preparation of Hurricane Milton,' according to a Monday statement from Florida fire marshal Jimmy Patronis, who also serves as the state's chief financial officer. By midday Wednesday, Hurricane Milton was barreling across the Gulf of Mexico as a powerful Category 4 storm, on track to make landfall along Florida's central west coast late Wednesday or early Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said. The fire marshal's warning comes after prior incidents of floodwaters caused electric vehicles to burst into flames. Florida officials have confirmed 48 lithium-ion battery fires related to storm surge from Hurricane Helene, with 11 involving
EVs...Owners should relocate their EVs to higher ground where their vehicles will be at less risk of flooding, Patronis said. After the storm, EVs flooded by saltwater should be moved away from residences to safe locations, so 'you can worry about fixing your home, instead of rebuilding it due to fire,' Patronis stated."

Makes sure your batteries are charged (except for the 1/2 ton bomb we mandated in your garage).

(10/9/24) reports: "Despite the surge in renewable energy additions, the world is not yet on track to reach the goal of tripling renewables capacity by 2030, according to the Renewables 2024 report published by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on Wednesday. Global renewable capacity is expected to grow by 2.7 times by 2030, surpassing countries’ current ambitions by nearly 25%. But it still falls short of tripling, said the agency advocating for a swift move away from fossil fuels. While climate and energy security policies have boosted the attractiveness of renewables by making them cost-competitive with fossil-fired generation, 'this is not quite sufficient to reach the goal of tripling renewable energy capacity worldwide established by nearly 200 countries at the COP28 climate summit,' the IEA said. The agency’s main case, assuming existing policies and market conditions, forecasts 5,500 gigawatts (GW) of new renewable capacity becoming operational by 2030. This implies that global
renewable capacity additions will continue to grow every year, reaching nearly 940 GW annually by 2030 – 70% more than the record level achieved in 2023, the IEA said."
