The “What Matters” podcast explores how we can solve our problems as a community rather than settling for the typical two-party system and accepting the lack of investment in Black communities that we’ve seen for decades.
Our community is diverse and multifaceted, and we recognize that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. So, where do we start?
We’re going to get into it, John — trust.
We’re just 25 days away from the presidential election, and so far we are seeing the same old playbook play out. We’re not going to accept any more empty promises to the Black community.
That’s why we’re bringing our community together to talk about a variety of topics including policing, building economic power in the Black community, education, and more.
We’re not afraid to recognize that traditional political parties and the two-party system too often overlook the issues that matter most to us, and we're stepping in to fill that gap.
Our discussions will center on the challenges we face and explore visionary solutions grounded in love for our people. This podcast is an extension of our work to make it a priority to center everyone, no matter their background. Elevating our diverse community’svoices in our spaces, created for us and by us, is essential to how we move forward.
This podcast is not about party politics; we won't be swayed by red or blue agendas. Instead, we encourage independent thought, engagement, and informed decision-making within our community.
The time has never been more important to interrogate the two-party system and the ways that it is failing us. That’s why we’re bringing together a diverse group of Black people from across the country.
Far too often, we’re seen as a monolith, and boxed into one way of thinking and it’s more important than ever to interrogate that belief.
We’ll laugh, cry, challenge each other, and learn together as we seek to build a world where Black lives matter and THRIVE.
This is only the beginning, and our work continues long after the election is over. But, during this critical time, this is our space to talk about the issues that matter to us. In these conversations, we have the freedom to imagine how we get to a future of Black liberation.
I hope that you’ll tune in soon. Thank you for your support!
