Email from Rep. Nehls Rep. Nehls Meets with Operation Patriot Packs   Greetings! I wanted to take a moment to share with you a recap on what happened last week in Texas' 22nd District and the United States House of Representatives. This Week in TX-22 Rep. Troy E. Nehls Joins Fort Bend County Farm Bureau Members at the 2024 Annual County Meeting I enjoyed meeting with Fort Bend County Farm Bureau members at their 2024 Annual County Meeting this week. During the meeting, I had the opportunity to discuss the most recent Farm Bill, H.R. 8467, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024, which has passed out of the House Agriculture Committee. As of 2022, the great state of Texas leads the nation in the number of farms and ranches, covering over 125 million acres across the state, with over 300,000 of those acres being in Fort Bend County. Fort Bend County's agriculture landscape is vast, spanning from cotton to cattle. Additionally, Fort Bend County produces vitally important commodities for our communities, state, and country. Thank you to all of our hardworking farmers and ranchers, and thank you for having me. God bless Texas' 22nd. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Meets with Operation Patriot Packs Operation Patriot Packs is a new charity in the 22nd Congressional District of Texas and is dedicated to serving our nation's heroes by providing essentials and support to Veterans and homeless Veterans in Fort Bend County, Harris County, and across the country. This week, I had the pleasure of presenting Operation Patriot Packs with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for their profound dedication to supporting Veterans in our district and beyond. While meeting with Lawrence Brown, the co-founder of Operation Patriot Packs, I was able to help Mr. Brown and other volunteers with packing bags with essentials, including toiletries and non-perishable foods. Our nation's Veterans answered the call to duty to serve and defend the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. I believe service to your country is a selfless calling and is among life's greatest achievements. I commend the great work Operation Patriot Packs is doing to support our Veteran community. Israel Region Information The Department of State continues to advise that U.S. citizens depart Lebanon due to the unpredictable nature of the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel and recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including Beirut. The U.S. embassy strongly encourages U.S. citizens in Southern Lebanon, near the borders with Syria, and/or in refugee settlements to depart those areas immediately. If you choose to remain in Lebanon, be prepared to shelter in place for an extended period, as it is now a level 4 travel advisory. Keep your passport and other identity documents in an easily accessible location. Please complete the crisis intake form if you are a U.S. citizen in Lebanon and want to receive information about departure assistance. If you have a family member in Lebanon, you can fill it out for them if needed. However, the State Department asks that it is not completed more than once. Please be aware that currently, the State Department can assist U.S. citizens and their accompanying immediate family (including spouses, children under 21 years old, and parents) and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) who have valid travel documents for onward travel from Turkey or Cyprus. If you are an LPR trying to evacuate, please have a valid visa. Please be advised if you are an LPR, you cannot bring your immediate family. At this time, the remaining commercial airline is Middle East Airlines, and they are expecting only flights to Germany and Turkey. Please check flight options at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. Travel within Lebanon is conducted at your own risk. The U.S. government cannot guarantee your safety traveling to airports, borders, or during any onward travel. You should consider your personal security situation before traveling anywhere in Lebanon. Only attempt to depart Lebanon or travel within Lebanon if you believe it is safe for you to do so. The U.S. Embassy may not be able to assist U.S. citizens who choose to remain. For Updated Security Alerts: You can stay updated on recent security and safety information with the U.S. embassy’s Security Alerts HERE. At this time, we expect flights to go to Türkiye or Germany. You will not be able to choose your destination. For those going to Türkiye, you will only be allowed to stay in Türkiye for 72 hours without a Turkish visa. For more information on what to expect upon arrival in Türkiye, see the website for the U.S. Mission in Türkiye. Please check your email frequently for all flight updates.
