Universal Child Care is Within Reach. Here’s how we get it.

Dear friend,

I am proud to announce my plan to get New York back on track to achieving universal child care. New York City's children need a champion in City Hall — someone who knows firsthand the struggle working families face and who is ready to fight for them every step of the way.

As a mother of two, I’ve lived that struggle. That’s why I’m ready to fight like a mother to make sure every child in New York City has access to affordable, high-quality care.

Investing in child care is a triple workforce investment — it strengthens our workforce by supporting parents, empowers caregivers with fair wages, and nurtures the next generation of New Yorkers. It’s a win for families, a win for our economy, and a win for our city's future.

But right now, more than half of New York City families can’t access the care they need, and our child care workers are struggling to make ends meet. It doesn’t have to be this way.

I’ve spent my career fighting for working families, raising the minimum wage, expanding access to child care, and pushing to make it more affordable. I know what it will take to fix this broken system, and I’m committed to making universal child care a reality.

New York City's future depends on how we care for its youngest residents, and right now, our system is failing. Every parent deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children are safe, nurtured, and learning while they work. Every child deserves the chance to thrive. But I need your help to make this vision come to life.

If you believe in a New York where every family can afford child care and every caregiver is valued, I’m asking for your support today.

Together, we can build a New York where working families don’t have to choose between their jobs and their children’s futures.

Fight like a mother with me to make this vision a reality.

With love and solidarity,

Jessica Ramos
