Investing in child care is a triple workforce investment — it strengthens our workforce by supporting parents, empowers caregivers with fair wages, and nurtures the next generation of New Yorkers. It’s a win for families, a win for our economy, and a win for our city's future.
But right now, more than half of New York City families can’t access the care they need, and our child care workers are struggling to make ends meet. It doesn’t have to be this way.
I’ve spent my career fighting for working families, raising the minimum wage, expanding access to child care, and pushing to make it more affordable. I know what it will take to fix this broken system, and I’m committed to making universal child care a reality.
