So the Government has been captured by the fossil fuel industry.

It is committing £22 billion in unproven carbon capture and storage technology after a surge in lobbying and donations from oil and gas companies.

Rather than accelerating the reduction of carbon emissions, the Government is throwing money at fossil fuel giants to pursue new polluting policies.

John, the need for Green MPs to push the new Government to do better could not be clearer.

There are credible ways to tackle the climate and nature crises the science is clear on – reduce demand for energy by investing in mass home insulation and kickstart nature restoration to increase carbon capture.

But Labour has just received a huge donation linked to oil and gas and is not listening.

It’s time to clean up politics and leave fossils in the ground where they belong.
