Hi John, Being queer is an incredible and wonderful experience. But it’s also super nuanced, personal, and occasionally, down right confusing! So understandably, people have a lot of questions! And while there's a ton of information online, sometimes, you just want somebody to break things down for you. Over the last few years, I've had many people reach out looking for a little bit of guidance from Queer Chameleon, and I’ve always wished I was able to help! So the idea for Dear Queer Chameleon was born, and what better time to kick it off than National Coming Out Day? To bring the idea to life, I reached out to It Gets Better so we could tackle these questions together — especially those that require extra insight, perspective, or professional expertise. Plus, It Gets Better works with LGBTQ+ youth who are living these experiences daily, so this felt like the perfect partnership. Dear Queer Chameleon isn’t just for LGBTQ+ youth—it’s also a great resource for parents, allies, and anyone who wants to better understand the journey. Whether you’re figuring things out yourself or supporting someone you love, we hope these conversations can help! Our first episode is all about figuring out your label (no pressure, though). If you’re into it, let us know—we hope to make this a regular thing and answer more of your questions in the future! Enjoy Episode 1 of Dear Queer Chameleon!
