Dear Illinois Republican Family,

As I travel across the Land of Lincoln, I often joke that I'm only in the first trimester of my role as State Party Chair, with the goal of swiftly raising it to maturity. Over the past three months, I've had the privilege of reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new fellow patriots—Republican warriors ready for change and eager for fresh leadership in our state and across the nation.

While it's been great getting acclimated, strengthening our grassroots network, and building donor relationships, there's always been a strong sense of urgency. To have all Republicans unite to bank on swamping the vote and protecting the vote. This effort supports our Republican nominees, allowing them to conserve resources, focus on getting out the vote, and persuade swing and independent voters.

Through these efforts, I've been delighted to work with our Republican County Chairmen through the Republican County Chairmen's Association, which meets monthly and I encourage you to visit their events and resource page. One of our County Chairs Andro Lerario from Kane County wanted to share this quote with all of us.

“Leading is not so much about being in charge but rather it’s about taking care of the people in your charge.”

Andro shares that this, "this has always been a favorite quote of mine. I’ve had the blessings in Kane County to be surrounded by extraordinary people. Friends who have come together for a common cause. Candidates that are both courageous and strong. Leadership that cares. That is why I tell everyone, don’t worry about the nay sayers or doubters, they are more afraid of success than failure. Forge ahead and we will win."

We urge all Republicans to vote early, and to do so in groups. Bring your friends and family, and motivate others to do the same. Make a plan to vote. Help others find their polling places, request absentee ballots, or vote early. Let’s all vote together and ensure our voices are heard: https://www.elections.il.gov.

Let's swamp the vote and vote early! Three reasons why you should vote early

  • Conserve our Republican candidates' resources: By voting early, Republicans enable our candidates to focus their time and resources on persuading swing and undecided voters.

  • Reduce campaign outreach: Once you vote early, you should stop receiving campaign calls, texts, mailers, and visits from candidates or volunteers.

  • Enjoy voting flexibility: Early voting provides convenience for those with busy schedules, such as business travelers and people with long work hours, allowing you to vote at a time that works best for you. Plus, it helps you avoid unpredictable factors like bad weather, illness, or transportation issues by getting it done ahead of time.

We examined the voting records of all of the commissioned Republican election judges in the City of Chicago, in suburban Cook County, St. Clair County, and East St. Louis. It is apparent that far too many Republican election judges actually have a history of voting in Democratic primaries. We simply must do a better job of filling our Republican election judge positions with actual Republicans. If we do not fill these positions, the Democrats will. Encourage any Republican to take the extra step in participating in the electoral process by becoming an election judge.

Illinois 2024: Three Questions on the Ballot

I recently had a productive lunch meeting with Dr. Robert Renteria, an internationally recognized Latino author and civic leader from Illinois. His bilingual "Barrio" book series, along with an academic and faith-based curriculum, is making a significant impact on teens and at-risk youth. These programs, offered free to schools and faith organizations, focus on conflict resolution, critical thinking, and guiding youth toward positive change.

Dr. Renteria is respected in Hispanic communities, and his programs are already being adopted by the Kane County Coroner’s office as part of anti-violence efforts. Various townships in Kane County are also collaborating with him to strengthen ties in minority communities.

I encourage you to explore his work at www.fromthebarrio.com. Dr. Renteria is committed to building a better future for Illinois’ youth. Contact him at [email protected] or 312-933-5619 for more information.

As Dr. Renteria says, "If we break bread, we go RED!"

Thank you for all you do and for supporting the Illinois Republican Party

Sincerely,

Kathy Salvi
