Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Lisa Brown, together with Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and State Senator Jeremy Moss, are hosting a pair of town hall meetings for the public to learn about measures that safeguard elections in Michigan. These “Defending Democracy” town hall meetings, which are free and open to the public, will be:
Tuesday, October 15, 2024 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Southfield Public Schools’ University K-12 Academy 19301 W. 12 Mile Road, Lathrup Village, MI
Saturday, October 19, 2024 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, MI
“This is a great chance for voters to find out firsthand how officials at different levels and branches of government are working together to safeguard our elections,” said Clerk Brown. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to discuss the many ways my team and I work to ensure that our elections are safe, secure, fair, and accurate. I appreciate the willingness of Attorney General Nessel and Senate Ethics and Elections Committee Chair Moss to share about their important election protection work as well.”
