Virtual Town Hall on the Kansas Community Support Waiver: October 23 from 12–1:30 pm CT on Zoom
Join the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) and Public Consulting Group (PCG) for the second town hall to discuss the Community Support Waiver (CSW). This town hall will focus on the services that will be provided under the CSW.

Wednesday, October 23 from 12–1:30 pm on Zoom
The town hall is open to anyone who would like to attend. If you need accommodations, you can request them when you register. We will also post a recording of the town hall on the CSW website.
During this town hall, we’ll cover:
• Services included under the CSW
• Budget limits for the CSW
• Self-determination for services
• Feedback from the technical advisory group (TAG)

What is the Community Support Waiver?
The Community Support Waiver (CSW) is a new Medicaid waiver program that will assist Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who do not need continuous, 24-hour support. The CSW will expand community care choices and supplement natural supports to make it easier for anyone to live independently at home.

Helping Disabled Workers Get Ahead

This year’s NDEAM theme, Access to Good Jobs for All, emphasizes our goal to invest in and create opportunities for disabled workers in good jobs across the country. Tune in to the upcoming NDEAM event, Good Jobs Change Lives: Helping Disabled Workers Get Ahead, hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) on October 24, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. ET, to learn more.
Event Description:
President Biden’s Investing in America agenda provides new opportunities to expand access to good jobs in key industries for people with disabilities. Good jobs are jobs at safe workplaces that pay family-sustaining wages and offer strong civil rights protections. Unprecedented federal investments in infrastructure, manufacturing and clean energy creates opportunities for greater inclusion of disabled people in critical industries.
This event will feature a panel of federal leaders from Departments of Labor, Commerce, Energy and Transportation discussing the impact of the Investing in America agenda and the opportunities it creates for disabled workers. Participants will also hear best practices to help employers hire and retain people with disabilities in good jobs.
