Mayor Cantrell wrote a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi in regards to federal support to COVID-19 response here in New Orleans — and today, we're asking you to send the same letter to Congress. You can even personalize your message!
Dear Congress,
On behalf of the people of the City of New Orleans, I want to thank you for your continued support and leadership throughout this crisis. The assistance provided through the previous stimulus and emergency response packages have proven to be critical in New Orleans. As Congress identifies next steps, I ask that you consider critical measures to provide additional aid directly to local governments, ensure businesses can adequately participate in the Paycheck Protection Program, improve employee access to benefits, and advocate for full implementation of the FEMA Individual Assistance Program...

These are things we're asking Congress to act on now:
* To distribute additional federal aid directly to local governments
* To ensure businesses can adequately participate in the Paycheck Protection Program

* To improve employee access to benefits
* To ask the HUD Secretary to give New Orleans discretionary HUD funds from the CARES Act
* To pass an infrastructure bill that facilitates long-term recovery
