AN OPEN LETTER FROM A CONCERNED PARENT

In case you are unaware, the race for NC State Superintendent of public schools is well underway - and it’s ugly. The Democrat Candidate Mo Green is a long-time political insider - an attorney and friend of deep-pocketed political organizations. The Republican candidate is Michele Morrow - a political novice and outsider seeking to fix the education system with fresh ideas and a vision for positive change. Michele Morrow is a mother of five, a grandmother, a former missionary and foster parent who has worked tirelessly in the service of others. Who has traveled the state, over and over the last 3 years working to help improve the education system. Who has dedicated herself to trying to fix what has gone so wrong for the children of North Carolina, especially the less fortunate ones who the school system fails again and again. And what has Mo Green done? He has worked feverishly to smear her so repeatedly and so vehemently as to incite his followers and surrogates to threaten and malign her. He has encouraged his supporters to go after Michele on-line and in person, attacking her time after time, everywhere she goes, hurling smears and vicious insults. Shame. His vile bullying continues on stage standing beside her at what are supposed to be respectful debates and forums meant to discuss the issues and ideas for how to improve our schools. While Morrow does just this, Green repeatedly attacks, knowing full well the effect it has on his supporters who constantly rise to his cues responding day after day with reprehensible slurs like: “EVERYONE HATES YOU.” “SHE’S AN INSANE NAZI PIG.” “F*CK YOU, Mickie. You don’t have the intelligence to walk in a straight line.” “You are a vile and wretched racist.” “I’d enjoy seeing you with your NAZI tail under your dessicated (sic) genitalia as you slither like a snake” “You piece of gutter sh*t!” Attorney Green has created such a charged atmosphere of anger and disrespect that credible threats of violence have forced this mother of five to hire security guards. This is the atmosphere Mo Green, in coordination and cooperation of “news” media, has created around this election for the leadership of our schools. Shame. It’s no wonder that Mo Green has left chaos and violence in the wake of his career - first in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, then in Guilford County Schools - 2 systems with some of the highest violence and crime rates in the state. After leaving the schools in chaos, he went on to fund the riots of 2020 as Executive Director of the Z Smith Reynolds Foundation. Perhaps most alarming, and most telling, is that Mr. Green has co-opted students in his disturbing personal attacks on Michele. His ‘Students For Mo’ movement has recruited and manipulated an innocent group of young people and twisted them to further his insidious attacks on Ms. Morrow. Their lack of respect for the candidate, and the political process, has been on full vocal display shouting slurs and insults at on-campus forums. Students behaving horribly, fueled by Mo Green. Shame on you Mr. Green. One of Mo Green’s favorite questions is: “Is this the kind of person we want running our schools?” Well, is it? Is Mo the type of person we want driving the culture in every school in our Great State? I don't think so.
