Ugh...as if Congressman Steve King being a leading white nationalist was not enough...breaking news from the Des Moines Register:
U.S. Rep. Steve King told the Westside Conservative Club Wednesday that humanity might not exist if not for rape and incest throughout human history.
"What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled out anyone who was a product of rape or incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?" he said in Urbandale, Iowa. "Considering all the wars and all the rapes and pillages that happened throughout all these different nations, I know that I can't say that I was not a part of a product of that."
The Kiron Republican was discussing his defense of not allowing exceptions for rape and incest in the anti-abortion legislation he tried to pass in Congress.
J.D. came 3 points away from defeating King in 2018...in the most conservative district in Iowa. He did it by standing with progressives against corporate monopolies and against big-money interests that corrupt our political system.
I was on the ground with J.D. last week as he launched his campaign to finish the job. He's now a local hero in Iowa. PCCC members donated thousands to his campaign last week, and we raised $25,000 for him in 2018. Let's crush that goal in 2020...maybe this month!
