Take Action Today to End Pharma's Vaccine Carveouts and to Make School Meals Safe
Ask your US Legislators to Support these Bills

While the 2024 Legislative Session has ended in California, the second part of the 2024 Federal Legislative Session is just getting underway in Washington DC, with a flurry of bills being introduced. Two bills in particular, if passed, will significantly change the course of Health Rights in the United States. Below is a summary of each and links to our website where you can easily write to your Federal legislators asking them to support these crucial bills.

HR 9828 Bill information: Introduced by Congressman Paul Gosar (AZ), the End Vaccine Carveout Act aims to dismantle the liability protections granted to vaccine manufacturers under the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA). This bill would restore the ability for individuals to directly sue vaccine manufacturers in court, instead of relying solely on the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), which has been criticized for limited legal protections and capped compensation. The legislation also extends the time frame for lawsuits and applies these changes to COVID-19 vaccines by removing them from the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). S 5084 Bill information: Introduced by Sen. Cory Booker (AZ), the Safe School Meal Act aims to protect children from harmful toxins found in school meals. The bill proposes limiting heavy metals, banning harmful pesticide residues, and removing dangerous chemicals like PFAS and phthalates from food packaging. A 2022 study found that 95% of tested school lunches contained glyphosate, a carcinogenic pesticide, and 100% had heavy metals. The bill also mandates the FDA to reevaluate and potentially ban harmful food additives, such as artificial dyes, in school meals. Furthermore, this bill supports organic and regenerative farming practices by offering grants and making certification more accessible to small farmers. The goal is to provide safe, nutrient-rich food to students while creating new market opportunities for responsible producers.
