To reply directly to Linda VerNooy, click here: Reply. Dear DC CCL members As we know from CCL’s October Action, one of the most effective ways to get climate policies enacted is to vote regularly! When climate-concerned voters consistently participate in every election, this helps to motivate candidates to prioritize climate action. So please make your voice heard in DC’s election on Tuesday, November 5th. We encourage you to not only make a plan for when and how you'll vote but also to bring friends, family, or colleagues with you. Voting together can create a ripple effect, amplifying the impact of your voice and demonstrating the collective power of our community. Information about where, when, and how you can vote is available at vote.gov. This is also a useful website for those of you who are registered in other states. Some DC specific details are provided below. Thank you for your commitment to creating a livable world. Let’s make our votes count for climate action! Registration Deadlines: Same day registration is available during early voting and on Election Day. The deadline for voter registration online or by mail is October 15th. Same day registration is available during early voting and on Election Day. http://cclusa.org/vote To vote using a mail-in ballot: Absentee ballots will automatically be sent to all registered voters in DC. As long as you are in line by 8:00 pm, you will be able to vote. If you have further questions and to see a sample ballot, you can contact the DC Board of Elections (phone number and social media at the bottom of the page). You can also call the excellent trained volunteers at the Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE with any questions you have about voting or to report shenanigans while voting.
