Team -- I wanted to make sure you saw this.
As Chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I am doing my utmost to focus on the well-being, personal safety, and morale of all service members and their families.
That is why in the Fiscal Year 2020 Defense Appropriations Act, I worked to include a 3.1 percent pay raise for our women and men in uniform.
I also worked to increase funds for military childcare facilities, because I believe that access to affordable and quality childcare is vital to retention in our all-volunteer force -- particularly for mid-career enlisted personnel and officers.
These brave patriots put their lives on the line every day to protect our freedoms and way of life. We owe it to them to make sure they and their families get the support and treatment they deserve. Will you join me in supporting our troops today?
