Scared, homeless, but no longer alone, 21 dogs and puppies arrived at PAWS Chicago today. Now they need your help.

Dear Friend,
The hurricanes that wreaked havoc across the Southeastern United States over the last weeks remind us that even on sunny Chicago fall days, suffering animals need our help.

Help Hurricane Rescues ([link removed])
PAWS volunteers returned to Chicago just hours ago with 21 homeless dogs and puppies from a shelter in Johnson City, Tennessee, located in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and surrounded on all sides by flooding and damage caused by Hurricane Helene.

Meet Sherry, abandoned at the shelter's door, crammed in a too small carrier. And Frappe, found in an irrigation canal along a busy roadway with momma and siblings. And Jolene, rescued from a shelter that later flooded with rancid wastewater.

And all had been rescued before the hurricane did its damage.

The 21 pets are safe at the PAWS Chicago Nan & Wayne Kocourek Medical Center now. But their journeys are only just beginning. They'll get all the medical care, training, socialization, and love they need.
