Do you know what one of the worst feelings in the world is, friend?
Waking up the day after Election Day, seeing an outcome you’d dreaded and feared, and then wishing you had done more.
That’s how I felt on Nov. 9, 2016.
I couldn’t help but wonder if I could have done more – if we could have all done a little more – to lead to a different outcome.
It was a wake-up call for me and why I decided to run for Congress, fought tooth and nail in that campaign, and ended up ousting a 22-year GOP incumbent in TX-32 and winning back the House for Democrats in 2018.
Well, the moment we’re in now reminds me exactly of 2016.
For the first time ever in our race, a poll shows me 1 point ahead of Ted Cruz. We are so close to getting rid of a Senator who has failed Texans time and time again. We are on the cusp of real change, friend!
But here’s the thing: This will be the closest of races right up until the very end, and Ted Cruz and his allies have already reserved $34.1 million in attack ads against me. We can’t take our foot off the gas now. In fact, we’ve got to work harder than ever.
I never again want to wake up the day after an election wishing I had done more. Do you, friend?
With the finish line in sight, let’s give this everything we have: Please, rush a donation of $5 or anything you can spare to power our campaign to victory. Every dollar you give brings us that much closer to firing Ted Cruz and bringing real leadership to Texas →
