Here’s what CRR has to say:

One day of recognition is not enough for all the birds who need it. At Chicken Run Rescue we celebrate the day, the month and all year.

Our message is always: count every one, every one counts.

CRR limits the number of birds who live here because we want to honor each and every bird as an individual. Our first responsibility is to the birds already in our care. We cannot help all the birds but we share our almost 20 years of experience with others who want to help them.

We also celebrate our volunteers - each contributing a gift of time, tireless effort and care. We are surviving the pandemic because of them. Most volunteers cannot be here in person until it is safe again, but they have seen to it that our residents have everything they need. It makes perfect sense to honor you all on the same day we honor the birds.

Volunteers are family to us and the birds. It is heartwarming to know how much the birds and this place means to you all. This video will reunite everyone until we can be together again. For new volunteers waiting to come, be patient and meet the birds this way for now. Please keep in touch on Facebook and Instagram.

Take every opportunity to link the harm done to animals to the roots of the pandemic and motivate evolution. We know in our hearts they are inextricably intertwined.
