Video: Immigration and the 2024 Election - Stan Marek, CEO of MAREK, and Linda Lorelle, award winning journalist, discuss the essential role that immigrants play in the Texas economy and the current state of affairs of immigration politics in an interview with Jim Granato, Dean of the Hobby School of Public Affairs. Speakers discussed challenges associated with the U.S. immigration system including worker misclassification and the lack of a method for long-time unauthorized immigrants to earn legal status. They also emphasized the need for commonsense immigration reform that improves border security, updates the asylum system, legislates a permanent solution for DACA, and creates a method to ID and Tax unauthorized immigrants. 

America’s Next Commander in Chief Must Unapologetically Support Israel - To mark the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israel, U.S. Senator John Cornyn authored an op-ed in the Dallas Morning News highlighting the pressing need for America’s leaders to support Israel and stand up to terrorism around the world. "If Oct. 7 wasn’t a wake-up call for this administration, I don’t know what will be. We face a modern-day axis of evil, and we cannot be naive to the fact that our reaction to terrorism around the world can and will affect our national security here at home. We ignore this grim reality at our own peril," said Cornyn.

Cruz, Cornyn, Colleagues Send Letter Urging Restoration of NADBank’s Water Infrastructure Program - U.S. Senator John Cornyn, along with Senator Ted Cruz and Representatives Monica De La Cruz, Vincente Gonzalez, Tony Gonzales, Veronica Escobar, and Henry Cuellar, today sent a letter to the North American Development Bank (NADBank) expressing strong support for the re-establishment of NADBank’s Water Infrastructure Fund and urging the board to take swift action in restoring this critical program to improve water security for border communities.
