Images, video, and sound bites available to assist with coverage of the 2024 Minnesota Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener in Sleepy Eye

On Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12, the Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener will be celebrated to kick off the Minnesota pheasant hunting season with events in and around Sleepy Eye and southern Minnesota.

*FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11*

To assist with coverage of this weekend’s 12th annual Minnesota Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener in Sleepy Eye, the following items will be available in the Minnesota DNR Media Room [ [link removed] ].


* Sound bites from DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen
* Topics include – Economic impact, tradition of hunting, Sleepy Eye as host community, opening weekend events.

* B-roll and images of pheasant hunting

*SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12*

A news release detailing the highlights of opening day of the pheasant hunting season will be issued mid-afternoon. B-roll and photos will be available after 3 p.m. in the Minnesota DNR Media Room [ [link removed] ].
