Dear John,

Not only are North Carolinians facing a frightening right-wing wave of extremism, they’re now dealing with a horrific natural disaster in the western part of the state.

That’s why I wanted to rush you this Vote For Equality Battleground Report to let you know how the Feminist Majority’s  Vote For Equality is coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and its effect on the 2024 election in this critical swing state.

IMPORTANT: Most parts of the state have not suffered the degree of damage that would impair voters getting to the polls. So, our Vote4Equality Campus Mobilization Teams are concentrating on turning out a record student. Now more than ever we need your help. 

Mark Robinson, the Trump-endorsed candidate for Governor, wants to “go back to the America where women couldn’t vote.” He calls members of the LGBTQ+ community “filth” and “demonic.” He describes himself as a “Black Nazi” and called for political violence, “Some folks need killing.”

That’s right. This racist, misogynistic throwback is TRUMP ENDORSED AND EMBRACED. TRUMP CALLS HIM “MARTIN LUTHER KING ON STEROIDS.”

And let’s not forget about the radical agenda Robinson has for North Carolina if he wins in November. He wants to ban abortion with NO exceptions, reject federal funding for public schools, and take away voting rights.

To make matters worse, both Robinson and Trump have big-money donors lining up to support their radicalism to help them gain control over our lives and our democracy.

There’s no question that North Carolina is a key battleground state that can STOP DONALD TRUMP’S BID FOR THE PRESIDENCY and STOP the misogynistic, homophobic, antisemitic MARK ROBINSON.

Even though you don’t live in North Carolina we absolutely need your special help there. And we need it now.

You see, North Carolina is a key battleground state, not only for winning the White House, but for that State’s Governorship, and for eliminating veto-proof control of at least one chamber of the MAGA controlled state legislature.

This is the best opportunity we’ve ever had to take enormous advantage of a WHOPPING GENDER GAP and seize a historic victory that will have nationwide implications for women.

According to the latest Harvard Youth Poll, Kamala Harris holds a commanding 70% to 23% lead over Donald Trump among likely women voters 18-29, while a majority (53%) of young men are now also moving strongly in favor Harris. This Gender Gap, which has nearly doubled from earlier polls, reflects the strong support Harris has garnered on issues young women care about the most—reproductive rights, healthcare, climate change, and gun violence prevention..

PLUS...The Enthusiasm Gap between young Democratic and Republican voters is also significant. With 74% of young Democrats reporting that they will "definitely" vote, compared to only 60% of young Republicans, Kamala Harris benefits from the higher engagement of younger voters, particularly young women.

THIS IS THE LARGEST GENDER GAP IN HISTORY!

Your Feminist Majority’s VOTE FOR EQUALITY, has organized and mobilized right smack in the middle of this opportunity

So far, we are currently on 42 campuses across 6 battleground states, North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, as well as key House districts in New York and California. Our teams of organizers are expanding every day. We can reach and motivate over 946,000 students and this number will continue to grow.

The self-described “Black Nazi” Mark Robinson, the Trump-endorsed MAGA candidate for Governor, is currently trailing Democrat Josh Stein by 15 points.  Given his misogynistic, homophobic, anti-abortion, and antisemitic statements, most analysts believe he can not only be beaten, but also suppress the Republican vote for Trump.  

In the fight to win back the Democratic majority in the U.S. House, there is one North Carolina Congressional District that we have targeted for victory.

AND if we can flip just ONE seat in a chamber of the North Carolina legislature, we can destroy the veto-proof death hold the Republicans have used to frustrate the pro-equality, pro-education, pro-health care agenda of the Democratic Governor.

Finally, we’re campaigning to insure that the Democrat, Justice Allison Riggs, is re-elected to her seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court. 

We’re organized on seven major universities: Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Greensboro, East Carolina University, NC State, UNC Charlotte, and Appalachian State. Sadly, our efforts at Appalachian State have been severely impacted by the hurricane and floods, but our team there is determined to do everything possible to get out the vote.

There are over 133,000 students on these campuses. These campuses alone could provide the margin of victory!

To take advantage of the WHOPPING GENDER GAP our Campus Organizers and Volunteers are concentrating on women students and getting them out to vote.

We must raise that money to reach as many of these students as possible in the next 10 days.

So, here’s how you can make a huge difference and help North Carolina seize the opportunity of the Gender Gap:

WE MUST NEVER FORGET THAT... unless Democrats win back majority control of the House of Representatives and maintain control of the U.S. Senate, President Harris’ agenda and our personal freedoms—abortion rights, reproductive health, marriage equality, and gender equality – will be held hostage by a Congress controlled by MAGA Republicans, backed up by a rogue Supreme Court.

We have the enthusiasm, energy, and joy on our side. It’s now time to turn those vibes into votes!!

We need to immediately step up our fundraising to make absolutely sure we have the ability to provide our organizers on the 7 North Carolina campuses with the campaign materials and tools needed to mobilize the 98,150 women students and Get Out the Vote. 

Training and equipping these organizers across this key battleground state to get out the student vote has strained our resources to the limit. We need more money—now.

Time is short. We can’t waste a second.

In past elections, we’ve proven the power of mobilizing young voters and getting them out to vote. From the victorious midterms in 2018 to the historic turnout in 2020, and the recent successes in 2022 and 2023, we know how to win.
