The United States Postal Service (USPS) is one of the most vital and essential services Americans have and it's so fundamental to our way of life, that it is a constitutionally established program.

The USPS needs relief from our government. But Trump is not only refusing to give aid to the USPS, he's also going so far as to threaten a veto on any legislation that would provide funding to support the USPS.

In the era of the COVID, the postal service has never mattered more. Especially here in Iowa and in rural communities across the country, because private companies like UPS and FedEx charge more and don't always go the extra mile for rural Americans.

But the USPS goes everywhere. We can't stand by and let the postal service fail and we don't have to.

If you agree that the government must provide support for the postal service to keep our country running, sign our petition and demand action from Congress.

You may ask, why is USPS so important right now? Why do they need a bailout?

The simple answer is this: without it, families, businesses, governmental organizations, and our democracy will be hindered beyond your wildest imagination. Why? Well, because:

Families are getting medication by mail
Students are receiving learning resources by mail
Our capacity to communicate by mail will be halved
Hundreds of thousands of postal workers will be put out of work

And if we determine that this year's general election must be conducted by mail? Our democracy will fail to operate by the voice of the people.
