[1]National Nurses United
This morning, nurses stood in front of the White House alongside 88 pairs
of shoes representing the 88 nurses who have died so far in the COVID-19
crisis. They honored those who have lost their lives and fought to protect
nurses still working on the front lines of this pandemic.

The next COVID-19 relief package is being discussed and finalized, and we
are demanding that senators include critical protections to keep nurses
safe in the bill.
We have identified 10 senators who could make the difference between
nurses having the protections they need or continuing to fight this
pandemic without the appropriate PPE. That’s where you come
in.

even created a page to make the process quick and easy.

If everyone reading this sends a message, we can make a huge impact and
get the protections nurses need.
We need these 10 senators to support the inclusion of these two elements
in the next COVID-19 package:
1. Mandate the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) to enact an emergency temporary infectious diseases standard.
2. Mandate the president to fully utilize the Defense Production Act to
direct U.S. manufacturers to massively scale up production of PPE.
A COVID-19 relief package could be finalized in a matter of days, so we
don’t have much time to put pressure on these senators to protect nurses.
That’s why nurses are taking time out of their hectic schedule to stand
outside of the White House right now and why we need you to make some time
to email your senators today.
Nurses across the country are counting on us to speak up as they spend day
after day fighting on the front lines, putting themselves at risk to
protect us. While they keep us safe, let’s fight to keep them safe.
[ [link removed] ]Send a message to these 10 key senators today so we can pressure them
to finally take action to mandate OSHA enact an emergency temporary
infectious diseases standard and force the president to fully utilize the
Defense Production Act.
In solidarity,
National Nurses United
