We’re less than 30 days away from Election Day, so here’s what you need to know:

  • This past week, Kamala Harris went on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Call Her Daddy, to discuss women’s reproductive rights and other issues important to young people. In a powerful moment, Cooper directly asks how she will help young people. Harris’ plans include increasing the housing supply, assistance for first-time home buyers, and tax credits to middle-class and young working people. 

This interview is proof that young activists’ concerns are valid and need to be spoken to by those in power. Young people know the implications of a Trump/Vance victory. These concerns will be dismissed, and there will be no opportunity for change.

 

“College students already faced barriers to voting — and states are adding more”

  • With less than a month to go, early voting has begun in many key swing states. Primarily college students and young people utilize the early voting option - and they are poised to be a force at the polls, which is why Republicans have started attacking the voting process. States like Ohio, North Carolina, and Texas are passing bills that will affect early voting, but young people will do everything they can to vote for the progressive future they deserve! 

Friend, early voting has officially begun in many key swing states! As we head into the final stretch of the election, we want to take note of the monumental energy shift. Here at Future Coalition, we understand that young people are ready to take action and be heard.

In the past few election cycles, youth issues have not been at the forefront of the conversation - it’s time we change that.
