Hi Friend,

On Saturday, October 12, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) turns 47! It's a moment to celebrate what CRA has achieved since 1977 - literally trillions in bank lending, investments and philanthropy directed to underserved communities all across America.

But that's also a reminder of what's at stake right now in federal court, where some of the largest players in the banking industry are trying to undermine the rules they must follow to comply with the law.

We need to hold banks accountable and #ProtectCRA. Will you join us?

Next Tuesday, October 15, NCRC will host a #ProtectCRA Social Storm all day across all social media platforms. We hope you and your organization can join us by sharing #ProtectCRA messages with your networks and on your social media channels.

Here are some sample messages and graphics ([link removed] ) you can use.

CRA requires banks to meet the credit needs of all communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. NCRC and our members have used the law to negotiate community benefits agreements (CBAs) with 21 different banks ([link removed] ) , producing more than $574 billion in loans, investments and philanthropy for affordable housing, small businesses, economic development and bank branches in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods and communities of color.

Let’s celebrate CRA and encourage the courts to uphold the new rule!

Thanks for all that you do,

Team NCRC
