Hello John,

America has strayed from the virtues that define noble leadership. The current era is marked by a cascading series of disasters that have been caused by the failures of our elite.

How do we revitalize great-souled statesmanship today?

ISI's newest video series, Daring Greatly with Johnny Burtka, answers this question by reviving a nearly forgotten literary tradition.

In Daring Greatly, alongside an impressive lineup of leading scholars and commentators, I examine the lessons and legacies of some of history's greatest leaders. Based on my book, Gateway to Statesmanship, this series revives the "mirror for princes" genre, a literary tradition centered on advising those in power on leadership for the common good.

Daring Greatly is the inaugural production of ISI's newly built media studio, Studio 53.

The first episode of Daring Greatly features prominent Notre Dame professor and political philosopher, Patrick Deneen, author of Why Liberalism Failed and Regime Change. Future episodes will include notable guests like Brian Kilmeade, Vivek Ramaswamy, Lord Andrew Roberts, Allen Guelzo, and many more.

Join Deneen and me as we discuss statesmanship and the common good. Together, we explore the historical tradition of statesmanship going back to Aristotle and Cicero, the relationship between Christianity and politics, and how we can revive classical virtue in our modern times.
