As the first woman and mother to serve as Governor of New York, I know firsthand the challenges of starting a family.

I recently signed legislation to expand women’s healthcare coverage during and after pregnancy. Now, insurance companies can no longer deny women coverage because they are pregnant.

Earlier this year, we also passed paid prenatal leave and increased funding for doulas.

By expanding access to maternal health services and making prenatal care more affordable, New York is making sure moms and babies get the world-class healthcare they deserve.

When all families have the care and support they need to thrive, our potential as a state is limitless.
